Throughout this great l938-9 season, the troup, com- posed of 35 members, has held the audiences spellbound by its feats of entertainment before the big show. Some ot the outstanding shows were the CHRISTMAS CHARITY DANCE, PEP NIGHT, issuance of the PEP SHEET, heading all BALLIES, assisting Ski Club, annual picnic, participation in CLASS DAY, and planning clever and unique ASSEMBLIES to advertise the Bulldog games. The Pep club has been more active this year than in other years. Our circus boasts a very talented one. Under the direction of Mr, Kirklin the beginners band was organized sometime during September, with many of the students just learning to play. ln Ianuary they became a lunior High Band. Since then they have provided entertainment at several assemblies and were well received. They also played at various Iunior High basktball games. Come one! Come all! For here in this tent we have, under the direction of Miss Compton, a large group of singers, the Iunior High Glee Club. Their first perform- ance was at a Thanksgiving assembly program featuring many lovely songs. They sang many familiar and sev- eral unusual carols for the lunior Noel in December making a very lovely picture as they marched down the aisles in white choir robes carrying lighted candles. They presented their annual operetta in April. An operetta in two acts entitled lt Happened In Holland. They sang on a program for music week, and completed their colorful season with a group of ninth graders sing- ing for commencement. 'vii' gs- Step right up ladies and gentlemen! Here in this place we have one of the biggest shows on earth, the annual lunior Hilarities. This show combines the great- est array of talent ever assembled in one place. This years Hilarities had its setting in a radio station. Among the hilights of the show was a murder mystery entitled The Automatic Murder and a short skit entitled Chin Music. They also had many songs and novelty tap dances, Attention all Music Lovers tor here we present the lunior High Orchestra, Under the able direction of Mr. Cox, the lunior High Orchestra has improved decidedly. Their first appearance was to accompany the Three One Act Plays. Since then they have accompanied The Saint, The Hilarities, and the operetta. A small group ot skilled members, one of the best for its size, furnished special music tor the Hilarities. These stu- dents have learned to appreciate both classified and popular music.
