S. SWINGTlME on it. DECEMBER I8 the Girls' and Boys' League gave a ioint Christmas assembly and presented the CHRISTMAS CAROL. DECEMBER I7 a halt was called and a VACATION was decided upon. So for two weeks we rested for the long trail ahead. Our iourney was then half over. JANUARY 2 we returned, revived and confident of overcoming hardships ahead. JANUARY I3 the Student Council gave an assembly featuring the PRESIDENTIAL QUARTET. FEBRUARY 5, HOBO DAY was held with students in their finest raiment. Those who felt themselves too dignified to participate were obliged to roll a peanut the length of the gym. FEBRUARY I0 our actors presented the TORCHBEARERS, a comedy which was clever and amusing. FEBRUARY 22 the Junior Class honored George Washington's birthday by presenting CRlNOLlNE AND CANDLELIGHT. MARCH 2 the EASTERN OREGON BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT was held and our Bulldogs put up a gallant battle, but were finally subdued by the Tigers in a 2 to I game win. MARCH 9 the first printed issue of our school paper, the X, made its debut. MARCH I2 the TORCH HONOR society sent delegates to the convention in Hermiston. MARCH 29 some of our members, dressed as gypsies, presented the operetta, CHONlTA. MARCH 2l the Newswriters showed us the inside of a newspaper office in an amusing assembly, STORK WINNERS. APRIL 2 the Girls' League gave a DUTCH DANCE wherein the girls invited the boys. APRIL 9 our actors and actresses portrayed life in a convent in the play, THE CRADLE SONG. On APRIL 23 the STUDENT COUNCIL gave a dance which was a very gala event. APRIL 30 the knees of many a lofty Senior were found to be shaking as the Senior Class presented SPRlNG DANCE. MAY 3A8 was MUSIC WEEK and on May 8, the COUNTY MUSIC FESTIVAL was held. MAY 2l the JUNIOR-SENIOR BANOUET and prom, which was an elaborate affair, was well attended.
