As a comprehensive high school Baker has a responsibility to offer its students a wide variety of meaningful experiences. For that reason we endeavor to establish programs which will give young people an opportunity to develop mentally, physically, and emotionally. Every student who comes to Baker needs to realize the many avenues available to him or her which will allow for the expression of individual personalities. Every teacher who teaches at Baker should work toward allowing all studens the chance to succeed at some level. The overall success of our school depends on teachers, students, and administrators w-orking together to accomplish these goals. Harry Ingalls Mrs. Hampton is the school’s executive secretary to the principal, bookkeeper, and the athletic director’s secretary. She has been here 21 years and is a graduate of Baker High. Mrs. Wilkinson is the secretary in the main office. She has been here 20 years and is a Baker High graduate. Faculty 16

Public education is the greatest place in the world to receive an education! I went to public schools; my sisters and brother went to public schools; and my children are presently attending public schools. I have been a public school educator 19 years. Students will get out of education only what they put into it. The harder they try, the more they will learn. Wayne Messina Mrs. Lee has been here for 14 years. She keeps track of the attendance of students along with tardies, checkins, check-outs, and cuts and bruises. She says, “Baker is home.” Coach Larry Thomas is a native of Waynesboro, Mississippi. He has been a teacher and coach at Baker High since 1966. Coach Thomas is also the Dean of Students and, therefore, handles student attendance and tardiness. Faculty 17
