They serve as a history of the past year at Baker High School -- a year filled with action, excitement, a school crowded with 2,050 busy students. lt is here that we have found the moments to gather together in clus- ters and crowds . . . the minutes to plan projects and dances. . . the hours spent in a special class where we do not count the minutes . . . the season to thrill together to the thunder of the band and drill team on the football field . . .the tireless spirit of the cheerleaders at the many sports events . . . a year in which we have found and re- newed many friendships. . . a year in which many a laugh was en- joyed and many a tear shed . . . a year shared together in work and play, joy and tears, victory and defeat . . . a year which we shall long remember. 7967 c 'We s K. Sem gk if M 322 5 ASQ fm f if f 3 was 111 l i i Dedication We of Baker High School are very proud to know a person who has untiringly devoted his time and ability to the students. As each task was sought and accomplished, it has been done with one thought in mind - the best for the students. In his many years at Baker he has done so much. Through his best efforts, many students have held jobs in the Diversified Cooperative Training program-which he heads. He has unselfishly helped the seniors with announcements, caps and gowns, and all the details that go along with graduation. To this man who seeks no glory for himself but has gained the respect and friendship of many, we say thank you and proudly dedicate the i967 Arrowhead to Mr. Paul Mezick. IT S YOURS WITH outllern gc-:ll 7 The Baker High School Student Coun- cil extends its deepest gratitude to Mr. Oscar P. Boyles for his untiring efforts and contributions to the betterment of Baker High School. We would also like to thank the faculty for their dedication to the education and the enrichment of the minds of their stu- dents. With each graduating Senior goes our most sincere wish for a successful future. This page has been purchased by the Senior Class in order that we may express our gratitude to the administrators and teachers of Baker High School and for the purpose of giving useful advice to Baker's future Seniors. The administrators and teachers of our school have accepted a great responsibility. Every day it is their chosen duty to place before young people ideas and facts that can open up countless doors of opportunities leading to mature understanding of all of life's aspects. To each and every teacher in Baker High School the Senior Class says thank you. We thank you for the hours you have spent attempting to clearly place before us not only the gay moments of life but also the harsh realities. We thank you for your sacrificeg a sacrifice that has helped us to enrich our lives. We thank you most of all for helping us to see ourselves more clearly in relation to other people and to the rest of the world. Tomorrow's Seniors have a hard road and a heavy task before them. lt takes a broad outlook on life, maturity, and self-discipline to be a successful Senior. The Seniors one sees walking through the halls of Baker are different from the underclassmen. Something hap- pens i11 the Senior year that broadens a young man's mind and seems to make the world open up into boundless new frontiers. You Seniors of the future should be prepared and fortified for the responsibilities and duties you will be expected to bear as Seniors. We are telling you of your duties as Seniors because we wish you to accept them and bear them maturely and, if at all possible, do so better than we have. The vast majority of this yearls graduating class can truthfully say that the years we have spent at Baker have been enjoyable ones. Nature is kind to us for she blots out all of our most unpleasant experiences and leaves indelible in our memories those events which have afforded us great pleasure. Nature does not let our unpleasant experiences he forgotten completely, no, for it is from these experiences that we learn the truths of life. Sitting right alongside those unforgettable remembrances of fun during our four years in high school, are the realities of life that one acquires only through contact and conflict with the opinions, ideas, and ideals of the people constituting our society. So what does this all mean? It means that the journey through high school is an en- lightening experience that allows a young person to learn and to mature. From unknowing children we have grown into the young men and women of today and we shall grow into the responsible citizens of tomorrow. We are like seedlings, who,fed with the warm rays of the sun, grow and grow until they have become. full-fledged, productive members of a forest, and like seedlings we shall continually aspire towards our own sun: truth.
