One that has brought forth probably the most dynamic person in the history of Baker High School. In 1952 he became head basketball coach, and in 1959 he became czar of Baker’s sports when he was named head football coach and athletic director. Thanks to his hard work and perseverance he has broken the harriers that held Baker hack for so many years in sports. He is a man who is loved, admired, and respected by many athletes, sports writers, stu- dents, and fellow coaches. He is a man who teaches athletes and students alike that , “When the score is totaled, the final judging comes not by whether you wrin of lose, but by howr you play the game.” For his hard work, patience, knowledge, and deep interest in Baker, we proudly dedicate the 1966 Arrowhead to Coach James A. (Bubba) Ball, truly a great sport. 1 1 Table of Contents Administration and Faculty.......................................... It serves as our epitaph and final analyzation for those students who feel that they, as seniors, have fulfilled their duties and have been an inspirational source for future students at Baker. The Senior Class of 65-66 has now reached a peak of maturity. It has reached the end of a new beginning. The members of this class now view new highways and must make important decisions for their future. Before we leave, and before we hand over our seniority we take this chance to say a few words of advice and appreciation. Underclassmen, we salute you and say that it is now your duty to carry on our goals and set new ones for yourselves. We hope we have set the example we should have and you will carry out your task. Even though we leave, we will return to see that we have not failed and you have not failed us. We challenge you to aim at an excellent academic rating: and yet, we hope that you will realize the fact that life is not just a series of number and letter combinations. We have charged you with this task. We shall now observe your results. In our stay at Baker, we have accomplished many things. We have achieved ma- turity. We have learned that individualism is necessary to achieve the best end: but that conformity is not condemned. We have prepared ourselves academically and socially for future endeavors, but the main thing we have learned is to associate with our fellow man and not to socially ostracize him. We have learned all these things; but we did not learn them by ourselves. We must give credit to the dedicated people who have taken an interest in us: administrators, teachers, coaches, band directors, play directors, sponsors, or just some unelfish individual. These people have given us more than just an education, they have given us hope. It is a hope that stands out from all material objects. It is a hope that has created mankind and developed him into the greatest living organism that exists. This is the hope that these people have given us and these are the people who have given hope to the world and mankind. We sincerely thank you. We hope that all have shared our thrills, our joys, and our disappointments, and hope that it has made a bigger person of everyone. This is not the end for us, this is the beginning, this is the crossroad of our life. We close in saying that we hope that we are the future leaders. Leadership is a part of us and we have lead with prudence. We say that there is no shame in being a follower. For there once was a great leader who spoke to followers, leaders, and all men alike. He said to us all: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Senior Class Ed Miller Senior Class President 206 CONGRATULATIONS: Football. . . 8-1-1 . . . Best Record In Schools History . . .
