REME BERI G THE GOOD TIME On September 20, 1986, students and alum- ni gathered in the high school auditorium to participate in the homecoming activities. During the business meeting, the homecom- ing exes nominated and elected the Coming Home Queen, Mary Darby Martin, and the Coming Home King, R. L. Elliott, both from the Class of 1929. The honor class of 1936 had twenty-three members present. There were twenty-five exes from out of state. The earliest women graduates were Naomi Heyser and Maggie Cook both from the Class of 1918. Roland Nichols, from the Class of 1926, was recognized as the earliest man graduate. The night's festivities included a football game between the Baird Bears and the Cross Plains Buffaloes. During halftime of the game, Homecoming Queen and King were announc- eclg receiving the honors of queen and king were seniors Carla Barron and Chris Gulley. The ac- tivities ended with the fighting Bears being vic- torious over the Buffaloes 42-19. Above: Homecoming nominee Becky Self is escorted by Russell Robinson.
