Also the teachers probably enjoyed it, because for one day of the year they could sit back and leave the responsibilities of teaching to the student teachers. The purpose of Student Teacher Day is to give the students the opportunity to decide whether or not they would like to go into the teaching profession. Student teachers are Juniors or Seniors who maintain a satisfactory average and are qualified to teach a given subject. Those participating were Dewitt Niles.
