EIGHTH GRADE Although we elected no class officers we undertook the traditional eighth-grade projects. The really big event that happens to every 8th grade is the trip to Albany. ln the beginning of the year, we planned to go sometime in the spring, especially when the legislature would be in session so we could leam firsthand some of the methods used in running a govemment. Not only did we learn about our capital but also, in Citizen- ship Education class, we leamed about the state we live in. To go along with our study we made New York State project maps showing the different cities and their chief manufactured products. ln Math we learned all about checks and matters concerning the bank along with our regular course of study. As part of our study we visited the bank and saw the vault with its store of safe deposit boxes and stacks of bills, and also the machines and their operation We wish to take this opportunity to thank our homeroom teachers for being so patient Wllh US Mrs, Butler and Mr. Albert.
