All of a sudden it seemed we were grown up l We were in seventh grade! Pass ing classes every half hour and having different teachers were new ideas for us But we caught on eventually That same year our work in social studies took us to A1 bany where we saw the state's capitol Fmally, we were freshmen and were properly initrated mto high school The only important thing rn our sophomore year was the football hop In our Junior year we found it extremely nice to be the ones to do the 1n1t1at1ng The really important event in that year was our junior prom Even though it didn't boost our treasury ter- rifically, the memories of our Moonglow scenes made it worth while And now we find ourselves seniors and ready to graduate this June. About the only appropriate thing we can say now is Thanks for the Memories. The really big event that happens to every 8th grade is the trip to Albany. ln the beginning of the year, we planned to go sometime in the spring, especially when the legislature would be in session so we could leam firsthand some of the methods used in running a govemment. Not only did we learn about our capital but also, in Citizen- ship Education class, we leamed about the state we live in. To go along with our study we made New York State project maps showing the different cities and their chief manufactured products. ln Math we learned all about checks and matters concerning the bank along with our regular course of study. As part of our study we visited the bank and saw the vault with its store of safe deposit boxes and stacks of bills, and also the machines and their operation We wish to take this opportunity to thank our homeroom teachers for being so patient Wllh US Mrs, Butler and Mr. Albert.
