OUR CLASS HISTORY High School days have been happy and busy for most of us The larger number of students have been studying with college as their goal and they have trxed to make the most of every opportuxuty Hard tasks have been mastered, courses have been completed scholastmc achlevements have been realized and the class has come to the close of the school course feelxng that xt has been worth all the tlme and effort demanded Graduation means much to each and every member of the class and all are lookmg forward wxth anticipatxon School days w1ll soon be past but happy memorxes wxll lmger long Lessons learned w11l be put to use Our teachers have all been sp1end1d They have made our school days as profztable and as pleasant as poss1ble All honor 18 due them Now about the graduates of th1s year Charl1e Chrxstxe was a Freshman 1n 1939 40 He graduated from the e1ghth grade at Dw1ght M1ss1on He dxd h1s Sophomore and Junlor work at Clulocco Indxan Agr1cu.ltural School Chllocco, Oklahoma He entered the army September 24 1942 and was d1scharged November 20 1945 He returned to U G thms year to fuush h1s hmgh school educatmon Jack McLemore f1n1shed the e1ghth grade at Bagley Hxgh School Tahlequah Oklahoma, and started to hrgh school at Sequoyah Traxmng School 1n 1939 40 In 1041 he came to U G as a Sophomore He enhsted 1n the navy January 9 1943 and recewed hxs dlscharge 1n January 30 1946 He returned to U G 1n 1946 as a Jumor and 1n thms year of 1948 has com In 1941 42 Roy Cantrell entered U G as a Freshman, from Starr Grade School He rema1ned mn school here untxl he enhsted rn the army January 15 1945 and recelved h1s dxscharge May 19 1947 He returned to school th1s year as a Sen1or The year of 1944-45 gave us the follow1ng Freshmen Blanche McKee from Sycamore L1ll1an Sanders McLemore from North Greasy Jane Sanders Lucnssxa Runabout Clarance Panther Lena Panter Waleah Ford and Sudle Croley all of whom completed the exghth grade here at U G All these Semors spent the1r ent1re four years here except Jane Sanders who attended Haskell lnstltute Lawrence Kansas durmg her Sophomore and Jumor year but came back to us tlus year to rece1ve her dxploma ln 1945 46 Norma Yount came to us after havmg completed her Freshman year at Pruden I-hgh School on the Tennessee Kentucky lxne She graduated from the elghth grade at Clearf1e1d Tennessee In the summer of 1947 she completed her reqmrements for a d1p- loma at the Bagley I-hgh School Tahlequah and at the present t1me IS attendmg Northeastern State College Tahlequah as a Freshman 1945 46 also brought us several mdustnous Freshmen who 1ns1sted on f1n1sh1ng hlgh school 1n three years They are Chr1st1ne Moloy Andrew Mattox and Sue Eubanks all of Whom fmlshed the exghth grade here Chnstme Moloy attended Bagley Hlgh School Tahlequah durmg the suxnmer of 1947 Thus ends the h1story of the graduatmg class of 1948 ' I I . ' 1 9 D I . . ' , . . . . pleted his requirements for a diploma.
