No 2 9001135 Kfadri ayirifory The present senior class started out in the fall of 1942, as all senior classes must, a bunch of green freshmen with Asena Collins as president and Miss Lucile Smith as At the pie supper, which was given by Bagley to raise money for furniture for the lounge, Asena Collins, the freshman candidate, was elected queen. . i Miss Margaret Lackey became our sponsor when Miss Smith went onleave of absence in ,our sophomore year. 'Ihat year Mary Lou Hutchison was our president, Asena Collins, our football queen andihetha Mae Capps, our class queen. Our class float was one of the most attractive in During the year we had several successful class parties. When we became juniors, we had as president, Letiia Mae Cappsg vicepresident, Carol Matthewsg secretary- treasurer, Billie Lou Morris. Our student council repre- sentatives were Lenox Tuell and Mary Lou Hutchison. The football boys chose Carol Matthews, from our class, as football queen. Once again Letha Mae Capps was our class queen and was on one of the most attractive To raise money for our junior-senior banquet we put to trial something that had never been used before in Bag- ley. We sold sandwiches and hot cocoa during the worst weather of winter. This was a service to the school, as well as a means of raising money. Orchids go to Pearl Combs and Fannie Hudson for faithfulness in the project. The whole class contributed to this in some wayg some brought sugar and ration stamps, some brought cooking equip- ment, and others gave liberally of their time. Our banquet, which followed a Hawaiian theme was held in the Legion Hut, on May 11, 1945. To guide us through the complexities of our senior year we elected Jesse Johnson as president, Alvin Mash- burn as vice-president, Mary Lou Hutchison as secretary, and Asena Collins as treasurer and Helen Capps and Christian Gulager as student council representatives. Our senior year was a repetition of our sophomore and junior years in that the football queen was chosen from our class. This time it was Helen Capps. We selected Pearl Combs to be our class queen and represent our class in the veterans Homecoming Parade. In spite of the rush about rings, cards, announcements and duties as a senior class, we managed to have a success- ful Christmas party in the Bagley band room. D 1 The goal of the senior class is to make this the best annual that Bagley has ever had. In trying to do this, we have put aside social functions, for a time, to concentrate on making this as good an annual as possible. During our years in Bagley we have been well repre- sented among the officers of the Student Council, In our sophomore year Asena Collins was the secretary, Chris- tian Gulager was vice-president the following year, and this year, Johnnie Orbin is the president, Pat Walters, secretary and Ida Belle Burnette, the treasurer.
