Boys' Athletics The spring baseball of 1947 had an exceptionally victorious season. They played nine games and won seven. The boys that were on the baseball team were as follows: Donald Bowers, Max Parsons, Robert Hibnes, jim jackson, Donald Myers, Frank Prescott, Darold Fitz, Eddie McCartney, Eldon Huston, Bob Prescott, Clyde Duncan, and Dean Thaler. The seniors were Donald Bowers, Max Parsons, Bob Prescott and Clyde Duncan. The boys' basketball team had a very unlucky season. They were defeated in all but one game. Fourteen boys were on the team. They were Darold Fitz., Eldon Huston, Kenneth Hoyt, George Mobley, Eddie McCartney, Robert Carrick, Robert Hibnes, jay Allen, Frank Prescott, Keith McCartney, Douglas Van Cleave, and jim Anderson. The seniors were Darold Fitz and jim jackson. At the beginning of the season the- boys were handicapped as Frank Prescott left us and later on Robert Hibnes left also. Coach Cuddy started football this fall with twenty boys. Some of them dropped out until he had a choice of only fifteen boys. There were five games. The boys won one over Bayard and tied one with Bayard. This is the first football squad Bagley has had for four years. The athletic awards were given to jim jackson, Darold Fitz., George Mobley, Kenneth Hoyt, Dean Thaler, Bob Carrick, Ed McCartney, Eldon Huston, jay Allen.
