The School Carnival On October 10, 194-7, the Senior class collected pies and cakes that had to be solicited from the surrounding community. That night the largest high school carnival in several years was held. A large crowd attended and all enjoyed the varied entertainments. The boxing matches, the bingo stand, the cake walk and the high school skit. The Home Economics food stand was the center of activities for all people in this community like to eat. We all wish to express our thanks to the community for helping make our carnival a success. Senior Class Play A Ready Made Family a three act play was presented by the Senior Class on April 23. A widow Agnes Martyn meets an old sweetheart, Henry Turner who is a widower and they become engaged. Both have children: Henry Z and Agnes 3. When the children find out about the coming marriage they immediately set out to stop it. One has fits, another talks baby talk, one turns kleptomaniac, and another toys on her operation. Love finally wins out and all agree it is much better than the preceeding mad house. junior Class Play Antics of Andrew is when a giddy college youth persuades an uncle in Australia to lend him some money to support his imaginary wife and mother in'law, and when his,uncle comes to visit him unexpectedly, hoping to meet wifey and mother'in'1aw, anything can and does happen. Two friends Willie and Harold disguise themselves as his wife and mother'in'law. The uncle falls in love with the mother-in'law, and trys to marry her. When the pre- tenders are unmasked and find out that the uncle is also a practical joker all are surprised. May Day The long awaited day has arrived at last that concludes the school year. The elementary grades put on a program for the patrons and in honor oi the King and Queen and their attendants. B's were given to those who had par- ticipated in sports and other individual awards were also presented. The 194-8 King and Queen is Darold Fitz and Marylee O'Conne1l.
