These items are im- portant to the farmer and vitally so to a ship at sea. The OR Division of the Bing Ding works twenty-four hours a day copying the fleet broadcast from which it obtains valuable information with re- gard to enemy movements, friendly movements' and weather data, all of which are of immediate concern. The Bing Ding is the flagship of a carrier division, therefore the work of the OR Division greatly increases while in the operating area, since all information re- ceived or sent via radio is handled by the OR Division. Despite a heavy opera. tional schedule, time was found by this division to copy additional circuits in order to obtain press news for the daily paper. Aboard ship, the arrival of the daily paper is anticipated with the same interest as it is on the farm, as in both cases it is contact with a world apart. ' Left to right, front rank: R. D.
