Some of the students of Taft, Garfield and Badin at workshop held at Badin in May. 32 The yearbook staff worked diligently to produce a comprehensive record of the school year. The annual has increased in size by eighteen pages and for the first time contains some colored pictures. The primary goal of the staff was to improve the qual- ity of the book. Members of the staff received train- ing in attending a yearbook workshop in Toledo. Another workshop was held at Badin in which such matters as layout, cropping of pictures and writing of good copy were discussed. Four girls of next year's staff. are giving a week of study at Ohio Uni- versity in June in order to improve their skills in yearbooking. Two projects, a fashion show and the sale of Christmas trees, were means used to raise funds needed to help cover costs. Editor Sue Blakely hard at work.

BYBEING LEADERS ... An important event of the year for Student Council was its joining with the National Association of Student Councils tNASQ. Officers Visited council meetings at other schools and profited from their observance of council procedures. Student Council supported many projects in its attempt to secure unity between students and ad- ministration. As a result of the council's efforts a Pep Club, a radio station tWBHSL and Intramural Bowling Teams were established. Some projects sponsored by the council were: Homecoming, Spirit Week, Freshman Initiation, Pride in Badin Week, and the Procurement of Flags from the American Legion for classrooms. Fairfield tabove righQ and McNicholas students observed Badin's council meetings.

The newspaper enjoyed vast improvement over the past year under the leadership of Sister Jeanne Therese. A new format and a better method of printing made the paper much more attractive and readable. Notable progress was shown in the quality of the reporting as the staff reflected those skills acquired in their journalism class.
