Senior Cla A ay The senior class play, BABES IN ARMS, takes place n a summer theater, The Suri and Sand Playhouse, in Iape Cod. The Surf and Sand Playhouse is under the upervision of Mr. Seymour Fleming, the distinguished aroducer, whose off-broadway productions have sent housands of ticket-buyers to Broadway. Mr, Fleming ,nd Bunny Byron together own the playhouse. The play- touse has been operated at a loss for three seasons, and Jith the loss increasing, Bunny is in daniger of losing ter share of the playhouse. The apprentices are in the midst of putting on a show f their owng as well as THE DEEP NORTH, written, irected, and acted by Lee Calhoun. They are in hopes hat their play will be good enough to make money and llow Bunny to keep her share of the playhouse. Because ,f the ill-humor of Mr. Fleming, the sensitive nature of .ee Calhoun, and the overbearing Mrs. Owen fmother if the star of THE DEEP NORTHJQ the apprentices ace tall kinds of problems getting their 'show ready. When all is said and done, one of the apprentices s able to get a well-known 'producer to see their play. The producer, Steve Edwards, is not only pleased with he production, he is so impressed that he decides to ake it to New York. So, as the press agents remarks: 'A musical comedy can have a happy ending. Page 83
