It has been Mr. Tobias Who has given freely of his time to help get the yearbook published. He has always been able to come up with the right suggestions at the most crucial moments, and he has always made even the Worst prob- lems seem trivial with his easy solutions. For all his help and sug- gestions, but most of all, for his calmness and his gentle humor in the most trying situations We Wish to thank him. Page 2 S if n JM L, .fJ CS! To begin their campaign to make their last year their best, the seniors elected their class officers: Mike Franzene, President, Bolb Ledger, V'ice-president, 'Tom Sclhinke, Trcas- urer, Joyce Featherstone, Secretary, and Greg Donovan, Ofiicer-at-large, These officers proved to be very capable, and helped to launch the class into several projects. The biggest of these was the Senior Dance, Safari , True to form, the class of '64 made it a dance that will not soon be forgotten-complete with pink elephants and stevved missionaries! Accoriding to those Who knovv, the dance Was the -best attended ever, and ac-cordinlg to the class advisors, it was the lmost efhciently put on Senior Dance. Of course, the teachers' combo 'Was a great attraction. They were terrific! This year's .senior class is so musically inclined that their class play was a musical, Babes in Arms. With that southern accent, the nasty told Aman, and all the lyoung love, the play couldn't help being a success. We cannot vvrite about the graduating class Without recalling some of their past achieve- ments. The class 'of '64 made quite a reputation for themselves as a group of kids who would ibuckle down and Work when the chips were doivvn. Working under idifliculties, the class initiated the Dogpatch and Marryin' Sam of Sadie fame, and with va Week to go, they put on one of the best proms Badger High. has seen. The class of '64 is quite proud of all its athletes. The class Was represented on two all- conference teams, football and basketfb-all, and several of the boys 'Won conference Wrestling honors. In addition to sports, the class excelled in musical talent. Many of this year'S sen- iors have taken major roles in all school plays in the past 'four years, and they have repre- sented the school very well at contest. In addition to the athletes and the singers, the class of '64 also has very good 'public speakers, adept journalists, curious science students, and outstanding scholars. Farewell, class of 1964, You have had a Wonderful four years. You have set high stand- ards for those of us you have left behind, We will think of you often as We follow in your footsteps. Our first important task of the year was to elect our class ofiicers. This year we selected four boys to lead our class: Tom Casey, President, Tom Chana, Secretary, Bob Host, Treasurer, and Dave Kronwall, Vice- President. The first job of the new oflicers was to select several class rings to be voted upon by the class. We of the class of 1965 believe that the rings symbolize our achievements thus far and display our pride in Badger High, We are very 'proud of our choice. Our most important social event of the year was the Junior Prom. All people involved Worked diligently all year toward this ultimate goal. We sponsored car Washes, sold refreshments at basketball games, and held Soc Hops, Through total cooperation and much hard Work, aided by parents and advisors, we finally reached our financial goal in time for the Prom. Both the faculty and the student body agreed that the prom was a complete success. We were all very proud of our beau- tiful queen, Joanne Hughes, and handsome king, Tom Phillips. We are enjoying Very much the upperclasslmian superiority which NVQ have attained. The entire class agrees that the year was a total success and We hope that our finial year at Badger High S-chool Will be as enjoyable as this year has been. The Surf and Sand Playhouse is under the upervision of Mr. Seymour Fleming, the distinguished aroducer, whose off-broadway productions have sent housands of ticket-buyers to Broadway. Mr, Fleming ,nd Bunny Byron together own the playhouse. The play- touse has been operated at a loss for three seasons, and Jith the loss increasing, Bunny is in daniger of losing ter share of the playhouse. The apprentices are in the midst of putting on a show f their owng as well as THE DEEP NORTH, written, irected, and acted by Lee Calhoun. They are in hopes hat their play will be good enough to make money and llow Bunny to keep her share of the playhouse. Because ,f the ill-humor of Mr. Fleming, the sensitive nature of .ee Calhoun, and the overbearing Mrs. Owen fmother if the star of THE DEEP NORTHJQ the apprentices ace tall kinds of problems getting their 'show ready. When all is said and done, one of the apprentices s able to get a well-known 'producer to see their play. The producer, Steve Edwards, is not only pleased with he production, he is so impressed that he decides to ake it to New York. So, as the press agents remarks: 'A musical comedy can have a happy ending. Page 83 U06 f mu ic Treble clef f ,,.. l . i 1' E A-x Q x , ff- 5 3 Row 1: S, Ketchpaw, P. Engels, J. Osborn, J.
