P a'n and ?ancq The play 'KPlain Sa Fancy. is the story about an uppish New York couple and how their lives become entvvined With the Amish community of Bird in Hand. The play was under the capable leader- ship of Mrs. Soderberg and Mr. Hintz, in music and dramatics, respectively, There were three performances, November 15, 16, and 17, in. the Badger High auditorium. The story was aptly told, and received by responsive audiences. The ifolowers of Jacob Amman, a Mennonite Bishop of Switzerland, came to be known as the Amish .. the group of people With Whom this play is concerned. One large group of the Amish, all of them expert and prosperous farmers, settled in Lancaster County, Penn- sylvania, and became parit of a large group of immigrants loosely referred to as The Penn- sylvania Dutch.
