cpl: more Our first important event of the year was to elect our class officers. This year we elected four boys to lead our class. We chose Mike Janoiwak as our President, Dick Gray as our Vice-President, Gene Motley as our Secretary, and Tom Chana as our Treasurer. Our next important event was our Homecoming float. Tlhis Was our first class float, as last year we had a bonfire instead of a parade. We all Worked very dili- gently on it. After many hours of planning, it finally began to take shape. Our theme was No Sweat. At last, it was finished. As we rolled it out the door of Yakes' garage, we knew that we had successfully completed our first class project. Next came perhaps our most important event of the year-Sadie Hawkins. We were determined to make it the best Sadie in the 'history of Badger. As to 'whether or not it was, that's up to the kids that went. But we seem to think that it was. First, We elected Daisy Mae and her court. Heather Wilhelm was Daisy, who chose Harold Peterson as Lil' Abner, Daisy's court consisted of Meg Powers, Nancy Dor- ris, Debbie Dietz, Kathy Appel, Barb Welker, and their dates. Bill Hintz played the records for us. Thanks to all the committees and all those invoved, Sadie was a big success. T. Chana, D. Gray, M. Janowak, G. Motley This year, three Sophomores had lead roles in the all-school play, Plain and Fancy. Saiy Johnejiack played the part off Katy Yoder excelently. Kathy Appel did a marvelous job as Ruth Winters. Dan Deignan displayed fine talent in the por- trayal of his role. The Sophomore Class entered Badger High with more confidence in themselves than they did last year as lowly Freshmen. We have shown greater class spirit in many of our activitiesg and look forward to our Junior year next fall. Page 28
