Guidance . . . Contributing to the individualiza tion of learning. Credit is due to our Guid- ance Department, for putting up with the never ending num- ber of students clamoring for PSAT and SAT results, begging for a chance at the guidance computer, and demanding in- stant solutions for their sched- uling riddles. Not to mention the paper work! We know it's not easy being in such demand. Jeannette Gregory, Guidance Counselor Thomas Racine, Guidance Counselor CUE ICiEECTCES I 'V Robert Warren, Principal Owen Collins, Vice-Principal Their technical staff Carol Chemerynski, Guidance Clerk Jeanne Polk, Secretary Instructing us in our need for an identity, with concern, guidelines and recognition. Mr. Warren and Mr. Collins have been keeping themselves occupied this year with numerous school renova- tions, trying to involve the community in more school activities, and improv- ing our over-all student activity pro- gram. Their major headaches though, have been smoking in the girls' lavatory and food fights in the cafeteria. We're sure they'll come up with the answers which might take a lot of work, but if the students made it any easier, where would the challenge be? Gertrude Whitesell, Clerk 9

Stanley Stefanowicz, Art, B.S. Massa- chusetts College of Art, M.A. Hartford Art School, Advisor to Photography Club. Demonstrating, enlightening, caring . . . the roles of our Stagemanagers Getting started is half the fun. Being there has never been easy. For one thing, the teacher has to get through numerous pages of printed matter to single out that which is important to those particular students who are trying to get their heads together, their coats off, and to tune in to the latest gossip, which one faculty member calls the social cement of Colchester. All this would'nt be so bad if it could be accomplished from 7:50 to 7:56 AM, but just when everyone has raced through it all and is ready to head for the door, that friendly voice comes over the loud speaker to remind us all that homeroom has been extended, for the distribution of senior candy, band and chorus salethons, taking of senior portraits, and the sale of yearbooks. It's then that we turn around, drop into our seats, shake our heads, roll our eyes and by doing so express to each other that everything is normal. Joanne Bryant, Home Economics, B.S. Pennsylvania State, M.S. University of Conn., Advisor to Home Economics Club. Roger Thulin, Band, B.A. Hartt College of Music, President, Eastern States Mu- sic Association. 11
