DISCUSSION CLUB Discussion C lub Babylon High School's town meeting-that is the Discussion Club. Every Thursday noon a group of juniors and seniors has met to discuss current events. The subject of dis- cussion for the next week was usually chosen each week, thereby giving members an oppor- tunity to become better informed on the selected topic. Marybeth Leininger was the president and conducted the discussion. Mary Olalla was vice-presidentg Marshall Southard, Secretary, and Miss Winslow, the faculty advisor. Art Club 8 Art Club is an organization which meets weekly to draw from real life models, many of whom are grade school children. Members of the club are: Dora Mae Barde, Theresa Brown, Thelma Fitts, Agnes Diek- man, Ralph Russo, Alice Frevele, Eleanor Bemberneck, Connie Randello. ART CLUB

DRAMATIC CLUB Dramatic Club i The 1943-44 season noted great accomplishments in, the dramatic field at Babylon High School. Early in the year under the sponsorship of Miss Kramers, the Dramatic Club was organized by the talented in each class, electing Edward Weinstein as president and Carole Huber, secretary and treasurer. Christmas realized their first production in the form of Why the Chimes Rang. Later they entertained the student body with several one-act plays, among them one by a student author, Harvey Cardon. The senior play of this year, Dead of the Night, of the mystery-farce variety, scored singular triumph. Undoubtedly this was one of the club's most successful years. Wctoiy C lub The Victory Club, sponsored by Mr. Dorller, has conducted the sale of war bonds and stamps in the school. The club also supplies Mr. Proctor with boys who help him in the col- -lection of salvaged paper. To induce people to buy bonds, the purchaser of the bond is allowed to dedicate it to the honor of some person in the service. VICTORY CLUB

BIOLOGY CLUB Biology Club Biology Club, under the sponsorship of Miss Bishop, spent a happy year dissecting frogs and worms, preparing slides, and working out projects on heredity. The president was Michael Autorinog vice-president, Hans Borstellg secretary-treasurer, Lawrence Waldman. Library Club For the purpose of securing help in the library, and to teach library methods, Miss Kenny continued the club established several years ago. The members also get inside information on new books as they are added to the shelves. The club is unorganized so there are no student officers, Miss Kenny being advisor and director. LIBRARY CLUB
