CLASS PROPHECY 1214 Peachtree Street Paris, West Carolina May 20, 1971 Professor Billy Jones B. F. Grady Institute of Learning Albertson City, N. C. Dear Billy, I am very glad you were able to arrange with your fellow faculty members for our class (the class of ' 61) to have our reunion at our old high school. So that you may have a vague idea of what we are going to do, I ' ll outline the program the planning committee has arranged. To begin the day, Faye Harper, a psychologist in Norfork, Va., will be in charge of our devotional. Joyce Lee and Deloris Taylor who are telephone operators in Tiny Town; Nell Howard, secretary for a Beaulaville construction firm; and Wanda Byrd, medical secretary at Virginia Beach are goingto sing with Faye to bring back memories of their group singing in our high school days. By the way, these girls are all happily married and have children. The committee asked Judi Kornegay to render some of the songs which she sings on The Lonesome Soldiers ' Show at Fort Knox. Judi lives there with her husband and two little ones. Janice Holt, guidance counselor for Raleigh City Schools, has consented to have something planned to amuse the children who are at the reunion. Betty Ann Hardy Waters and Eleanor Herring Boyette will assist Janice. Both of them have plenty of experience in working with the tiny tots. Everette Westbrook and Jackie Miller are planning some activities for outside. Did you know they are coachingthe area champion basketballteams over at East Duplin High. In case some of us have too bigaday, Alice Faye Smith, M. D. will be there to set broken bones or dress blisters. Alice has her own office now. Carolyn Grady will be able to assist her since she is a registered nurse at Rex Hospital. Clayton Creel will bring some of the things he has constructed in his own New and Old Fix it Shop located in Sarecta. Among the things he ' ll bring will be his idea of a perfect car. Dennis Stroud is going to check over this to see if he agrees. Dennis has his own garage at Miller Town. He spe- cializes in transfer trucks. Melda Harper, owner and operator of Mel ' s Restaurant in Tiny Town, has agreed to serve us our lunch at 12:45 in the Institute lunchroom. Willie Rae Rouse, Carolyn Bell, and Zylphia Carol Smith who work as airline hostesses for T. W. A., and Carolyn Jones who has a partnership in Kornegay ' s Food located at Outlaw ' s Bridge will help Melda with the serving. After lunch the committee decided to let the men-folks ride over to Scott ' s Town and tour Seth Blizzard and Robert Dail ' s huge Agriculture Test Farm. I hear it is the only one of its kind in Southeastern N. C. They have asked Phil Outlaw, Area Farm Agent, to explain in detail the usefulness of this type of testing to everyone. To entertain the women while the men have gone, Dorothy C. Stroud has promised to bring the latest styles from her Paris Original Dress Shop in Raleigh. Kathryn Dunn and Irene Herring, models for the Jonathan Logan Company will show some of the newest creations. Betty Lou Sanderson has the main office for her chain of Sands Photo Studios in Raleigh, N. C. Betty Lou has agreed to take action shots of the reunion. Judy Patterson Bostic, who manages the Sands Studio Branch in Greenville while her husband goes to school; Robert Smith, electrical engineer tor the new Du Pont Plant at Houstons; and Linda Stroud, secretary in the Tiny Town Bank, have arranged to help Betty Lou. Did you know that Betty Lou, Robert and Linda Jean are each very happily married. David Grigg, Donnie Mercer, and Woodrow Heath are to serve as the decorating and welcoming Committee. Comparing notes should be fun to these three math instructors. David is a professor of math at E. M. I., Donnie at East Duplin and Woodrow at Maready. Elsie Jean Outlaw Taylor has promised to run a feature about our reunion in her paper, The Outlaw ' s Bridge Review. She and her husband and three children live in the town of Outlaw ' s Bridge. Peggy Sue Williams editor of the Sarecta Herald has given us the same promise. By the way, Peggy ' s husband is the editor of this paper. Can you imagine? Ronnie Holt, chief of police in Wades ville, Kenny Page, police chief in Trenton and Lewis Smith, highway patrolman in Jones County have promised to park the cars and direct traffic. It sounds as if everyone in our class has had a degree of success. I can ' t wait to see them and their families. Can you? So long. I ' ll be seeing you the big day of the reunion. A classmate always, Gail Grady
