Marchetti, USN Commanding Officer ....„f Commander Michael Joseph Marchetti, a graduate of Georgetown University, Washington, DC, received his commission from Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island in March 1963. His afloat assignments include duty as Damage Control Assistant and Main Propulsion Assistant, USS STORMES (DD-780): Engineering Officer, USS AGERHOLM (DD-826): Flag Secretary to Commander Cruiser-Destroyer Flotilla Ten; Staff Operations Officer for Commander Standing Naval Force Atlantic; and as Executive Officer, USS EDWARD MCDONNELL (FF-1043). Ashore, Commander Marchetti has served at Fleet Weather Facility, Suitland Maryland; the Bureau of Naval Personnel (Pers-3); and OPNAV (OP-13) and (OP-095), Washington, DC. He is a graduate of Destroyer School, Newport, Rhode Island and the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Moterey, California, where he earned a Masters Degree in Meteorology. Commander Marchetti is authorized to wear the Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Vietnamese Service and Vietnamese Campaign Medal. Commander Marchetti is married to the former Martha Lalli of Newport, Rhode Island.

C0MM iNDlKG (SEPT 80 - SEPT 82) Commander James R. Kott, USN Commanding Officer Commander James Richard Kott, a graduate of Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio, received his commission from Officers Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island. During his naval career he has served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets. Prior to assuming command of AYLWIN he served as Executive Officer, USS FRANCIS HAMMOND (FF-1067), homeported in Yokosuka, Japan. Other afloat assignments include duty in USS PARSONS (DDG-33). Staff, Destroyer Squadron TWENTY SIX, USS NEW (DD-8I8) and USS BENNER (DD-807). Ashore, Commander Kott served on the staff of Commander Service Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet and as Assistant Director of the Tomich Propulsion Facility Propulsion Engineering Schools Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. He also served with the U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam. Commander Kott is a graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College, Norfolk, Virginia. Commander Kott ' s personal decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal with Combat Distinguished Device and a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award, and the Republic of Korea Order of Military Merit. He is also authorized to wear the Battle Efficiency Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Ribbon (Three Awards), Vietnamese Service and Campaign Medals, Vietnamese Presidential and Meritor- ious Service Citations. Commander Kott is married to the former Heather Taplin of Newport, Rhode Island. They have two children, Tim and Jennifer.

Commander James W. Pattison Executive Officer Commander James W. Pattison was born on April 26th, 1947 in Palo Alto, California. He was graduated from the Naval Academy and commissioned in 1969. Commander Pattison served aboard USS DYNAMIC (MSO-432) as 1st Lieutenant and Operations Officer, USS CONQUEST (MSO-488), as Executive Officer, USS CHARLES P. CECIL (DD-H35) as Operations Officer and Engineering Officer, and onboard USS HASSAYAMPA (AO-I4S) as 1st Lieutenant. His most recent sea duty was as the assistant Surface Operations Officer for Commander Carrier Group Eight which he left in February 1982. Commander Pattison has attended the Naval Post graduate School and earned a Masters Degree in Systems Technology from the Anti-Submarine Warfare Cur- riculum. Commander Pattison ' s decorations include the Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Commander Pattison is married to the former Gail Woodward of Whitlier, California and they have three children: Courtney, Bryan, and Erin.
