Class Prophecy The year rs 1970 'Ihe trme has come for a long awarted vacatron The vacatron rs not an ordmary one We hope to vrsrt all of our classmates There are four of us on thrs merry venture We all decrded to come to Defr ance to prepare for the trrp We started on June I5 Our transportatron were two thunderbrrds We decrded to go East frrst We started wrth the New England States We knew that MARGARET GOLLER was the head muse at the largest hosprtal rn Rhode Island The hosprtal was a mammoth one We frnally found the mam entrance and asked the receptronrst rf we could see Margaret We were only able to talk for a few mrnutes Our next stop was the crty of New York We had not planned seerng anyone but whrle walkrng along astreet we were very surprrsed to see JOYCE MARCH wallung toward us We asked her what she had been dorng and were surprrsed to learn how rmportant she was She desrgned Lrberace s wardrobe She sard he was gettrng more and more partrcu.lar and she drdn't know how long she could satrsfy hrm wrth her rdeas Srnce we knew BOB CHRISTEN had a theater rn New Jersey we went there The show we saw was very ex crtrng We were rn a hurry but we warted trll the show was over to thank Bob for hrs krndness and to tell hrm that we enjoyed the show We went on a long jaunt to Florrda We knew CAROLYN THIEROFF was a great harr stylrst there She gave each of us a new harr style We were all very pleased and told her we would be back sometrme later We moved on to Pennsylvanra where we went to the home of ROBERT ZACHRICH and asked lum about hrs basketball career He sard he lrked rt very much and couldn't wart untrl next season He rs a star for the Boston Celtrcs From Robert we learned that TONY DAVIS lrved rn Boston We vrsrted hrm Robert rnfomred us that Tony was hrs manager Tony drdn't have too much to say but when we left hrm we promrsed hrm that we wouldfol low hrm and hrs team more closely When we left Tony we headed west agarn We went to Colorado and vrsrted SANDRA SEIGMAN She had just returned from a mrssronary trrp We learned many rnterestrng thrngs about the Afrrcans We moved farther south to Utah We were shopprng one day and were very surprrsed to frnd BOB ROI-LN walk rng toward us He showed us around the store whrch was very neat and modern We told hrm we would lrke to buy somethrng from hrm but we drdn't have any room We wrshed hrm much success rn hrs busmess We knew that ELMA MOORE of the U S Navy was statroned rn New Mexrco because we had been wrrtrng letters back and forth ever srnce graduatron She acted very glad to see us and we were also very glad to see her We were her frrst classmates she had seen srnce graduatron because she had jorned the U S Navy after graduatron We talked over old trmes We were sorry to leave but we had to travel for trme was not standrng strll We traveled north agarn to Arrzona and vrsrted JACK PAHL who owned a very large ranch We took trme out and stayed all day .lack took us on a horseback rrdrng tour We hated to leave because thrs country was beautr ful but we knew we must move on We thanked Jack for hrs hosprtalrty and brd hrm goodby Next we traveled to Calrfornra In San Francrsco we went to the mrdget races and were very excrted to frnd that workrng on a car before startrng trme was PHIL GRANT We rnformed the trcket manager that we wou.ld lrke to speak to Phrl and he found hrm for us He was sort of black and drrty but we drdn't mrnd He told us many excrtrng thrngs about the races But he couldn't talk long because hrs work demanded hrm all the trme We wrshed hrm luck and watched the races We moved on to Los Angeles where we notrced posters of someone we recognrzed We looked rnto tlus mat Of course we drd not get to talk to Terry but rt was very enjoyable just watchrng hrm We enjoyed hrs hrllbrlly style of srngrng We had learned from Phrl prevrously that DICK HORTON AND KEITH COLWELI. were well known desrgners rn San Drego They were workrng on a car that not only ran on the ground but would also fly We had a very rnterestrng talk wrth them They also took us for a rrde rn therr last year's model We were startled when they drove rrght rnto the ocean We all agreed that they were experts rn therr frelds We would have lrked to stay longer It was gettmg toward the end of our vacatron and we had to head back East On the way back we vrsrted many hrstorrcal and rnterestrng srtes We stopped rn Illrnors and vrsrted BONNIE THAYER who was the Dean of Grrls She told us she loved her work very much and had many rnterestrng thrngs to tell us about her work She was a very busy woman so we drdn't keep her long We drove north next We went to Detrort smce we had read rn the newspapers that the Detrort Trgers were playrng the Cleveland Indrans We had already know that the two managers were our classmates The manager of the Detrort Trgers wasl-IA ROLD SCI-IOMBURG and the manager of the Cleveland Indrans RAMON SICKMILLER We drdn't really care who won because two of us were for the Trgers and two of us were for the Indrans The game lasted 18 rnnrngs but the Indrans frnally won by one run As we left the ball game one of the Thunderbrrds started actrng up We had to take rt to a garage just afew hundred yards away We made rt to the garage and then rt stopped completely We were very embarrassed to frnd that the on.ly thrng wrong was that we were out of gas One good thmg drd come out of rt though We met one of our classmates BOB ZACHRICI-I, .Ir who owned the garage We all had a good laugh over the rncrdent and talked over good trmes We wanted to get out of Detrort before evenrng so we started back for Ohro Once rn Ohro we headed up north agarn to Washrngton D C Whrle we were there we vrsrted the largest lrbrary rn the Unrted States whrch was operated by JUDY RETCHER The number of books she had rn her collectron was tremendous She had one room where movres were shown on all krnds of subjects We left that evenrng knowrng we had spent thrs trme to our benefrt We told Judy we would be sure and vrsrt her agarn She told us that MARIE FRANZDORF was just rn that mornrng to look somethrng up for her boss who was one of the congressmen from Ohro We knew she had that posrtron but we drdn't thrnk we would get a chance to see her Srnce Judy sard that she was off for the weekend we went to her house and vrsrted wrth her for a couple ofhot s We left feelrng very good We had seen all of our classmates except Rex Hooker whom we had seen before we left We marveled at the drfferent occupatrons all our former classmates had We all sard that we would have to do thrs a arn Sugnmer was comrng to a close and we all had we hated to admrt go back to work It was a long trme before we had everythrng sorted and were ready to go to our own homes CAROL PATRICK went back to Crncrnnatr where she owned a very successful DANCE STUDIO She was to start teachrng the newest dance It was the Rrco MARY HOHENBERGER returned to Columbus to her Nursery School for lrttle babres She was glad to get back We all knew she was homesrck She sard carrng for lrttle chrldren made her lrfe rnterestrng and rewardrng JUDY CLAY POOL and JANET KEMPER hurrred back to Texas where another member of our party REX HOOKER was wartrng for us We were scheduled to make a trrp to the Moon rn one week We would be the frrst humans to make or attempt thrs venture but we had kept rt a secret as long as
