His face is as familiar to all the students of Ayer High School as it is to our class. He may be found at every school activity - at a football game selling tickets, at a basketball game selling cokesg in the classroom and in the community, at every Student Council functiong at every Senior Class function. He sets an example in the school and in the community. He is an outstanding individual, always willing to do more than his share . . . always willing to give advice - whether it be academic or per- sonal. For four years he has worked for us and with us. For his many contributions, we thank him. We, the Class of 1970, dedicate Heirloom 1970 to Mr. Don Parker, friend, teacher, and advisor. NB' . School Board L. to R.: Mr. Thomas May, Mr. Betrand Cote, Mr. Frank Cote, Mr. Frank Glantz, Mrs. Barbara McCuane. The Ayer School Committee congratulates the Class of 1970. The rewards of a good education are great. Education offers you fulfillment as a person as well as the opportunity to succeed in material matters. It enables you to understand the issues of the day, to think for yourself, to find your own answers. Education can be a lifelong source of satisfaction and those who grasp each opportunity find they have built a favorable foundation for deepening and growing maturity. Administration DR. CHARLES HAND Superintendent of Schools My best wishes to each and every member of the Class of 1970. You have reached a high point on your road of education, but it is neither the end of that road nor the goal in your life. Your education began many years ago in your own home and it will con- tinue for the rest of your life. Your school years, sometimes called your formal education, help you to think, to reason, to learn personal con- trol and discipline. I am glad to have been a part of it. Your ability to think, to reason, to make wise decisions for yourself and others will carry you far and help you make your mark in the world. Dr. Charles Hand MR. FRED WILLIAMS Assistant to the Superintendent MR. NORMAN YOUNG Business Manager Princzpal Congratulations to the Class of 1970 As you join the ever increasing number of Ayer High School graduates, you carry with you memories of your high school days which will recur to you many times in future years. We would like to thank Howard Hutchins for giving us some photographs of last yearis juniors in action. Dave Lambert ,V 4 J ff 1 ln this way, we hope to preserve 1ack's memory. While in high school he played end! for the football team and was a member of the Student Council. He was well known for his sense of humor and love for fun. We hope that each year the award will go to someone who lives a well rounded and happy life, such as Jack's was. n Memor Jack Brooks ,lack Brooks has left us a legacy. Shocked by his sudden death in a car accident in No- vember 1968, the Heirloom staff has pre- sented an award in memory of Jack, a 1968 graduate of Ayer High. The honor is pre- sented each year to the senior boy who best combines the qualities of scholarship, integ- rity and athletic ability. For 1970, we feel that Walter Parker best exemplifies these qualities. Walter was captain of the 1969 Panther football team and the senior class president. mL.L Q - ,.,.,,,.e N, . .
