Council The Student Council is the governing body of Ayden High School. Its purpose is to promote self— government, maintain high ideals of citizenship, encourage participation in school organizations, and foster a high regard for our school. Among many contributions of our student govern- ment are the presentation of chapel programs, publication of a student handbook, and the sponsorship of the annual homecoming festivities. it. National Honor Society The purposes of the Ayden Chapter of the National Honor Society are to create enthusiasm for scholarship, stim- ulate a desire to render service, instill the qualities of worthy leadership, and encourage the development of character. Each year the organization gives a fifty dollar scholarship to a deserving member of the senior class. At Christmas, in order to help the needy, food, clothing, and money are given by the members. On Christmas Eve a committee delivers the gifts to a deserving family.
