5o L ou Wdo Haui Ce]t Memories Being head coach of the Ay den Tornadoes since 1946, Coach Tripp has guided our football, basketball, and baseball teams to numerous victories. For the two seasons previous to his resignation, Coach Tripp ' s football teams were conference and district champions. Last year his basketball players placed third in the state. Ayden High suffered a double loss in 1962 when Coach resigned. Mr. Tripp was also a teacher of history and government until last year. His patience, friendliness, and concern for a superior athletic program will never be forgotten. We, the Student Council, dedicate this annual to Coach Tripp with great pride. Mr. Johnson was the principal of Ayden High School for nineteen years. These were years of progress and development that have blazed their i m pr i nt on the school ' s history. In addition to being principal, he ad- ministered drivers ' education. Before becoming principal, Mr, Johnson was a coach and a teacher of physical edu- cation at Ayden High School. Progress in scholastic fields and in physical education were not his only contributions to the students. He was sincerely interested in each student as an individual and set a moral example for all. Spirit and pride that have clearly bettered our school were boosted by him. In 1962, when Mr. Johnson re- signed, a great loss was evident to everyone. We proudly dedicate this annual to one who has provided such a strong hand in guiding us in the past.
