Published by Annual Staff 1964 GOVERNOR VOL III CHARLES B. AYCOCK HIGH SCHOOL PIKEVILLE, N.C. I FOREWORD Door after door — key after key — at last, the beginning of a successful future and a cherished past. The Doors of Knowledge and Scholarship are hard to open, but with the right keys, teachers and study, it is simple. To open the Doors of Popularity and Leadership, we must have the keys called friends and ability. In high school, there are so many doors — so many unopened locks — and so many keys. Onl y by choosing the right keys for the right locks on the right doors, can we really begin a successful future. The key to unlock the Door of Past is in this book, THE GOVERNOR. This beginning of the future will soon become reality and then past. Today, this is not the Past; but Tomorrow, Today will be the cherished Past. 2 3 VINCIT OMNIA VERITAS A unique sight viewed from afar shows a beautiful structure along a sloping hillside. This structure is our school, Charles B. Ay- cock. The love and pride of all concerned are shown throughout the entire campus from the front steps to the back portals. Our hope, our future, and our destination greatly depend on this one construction which we prize so im- mensely. r 4 PRINCIPAL Our third school year of op- eration closes with a note of happiness and with the knowl- edge that we have accomplished our planned objectives. Congratulations for a task well done and for allowing me the opportunity to work with such a co-operative group of students and staff members. Jerry D. Paschal Principal 5 COUNTY ADMINISTRATION Elton Aycock, Mrs. C. B. Strickland, Mosley Davis, Worth Aycock, Luby Casey. The key to a better education starts with a good board of administrators. Most stu- dents do not realize that the county board forms school policies, keeps the school pro- vided with necessary equipment, and lends its help to the smooth operation of the school. Sincerest thanks to these people who devote much of their time and ene rgy to improve our school. 6 Assistant Superintendent LACY ROGERS ADMINISTRATION MR. H. B. BRADSHAW MR.
