FIRST CLASS PASSENGERS f X fy ff! 3 The first class passenqers aboard the luxury liner could look back over their :iiqh school career and nod their heads in aareernent that their years on the SS. Avonworth had been filled with rnany good tirnes and with the qatherinq of rnuch knowledge. Qur freshmen year found the Erns- worth and Ben Avon ninth grades united for the first time. Under the leadership of Carlotta Brigham, we held our first class dance, the Spring Fiesta , in the Ems' worth qyrn. Gur victorious Junior hiqh basketball team that year qave us a qlirnpse of things to come. As we entered the tenth grade, we chose Charlton Carpenter as the president of the class. This year proved to be our money-rnakinq year as we sold pictures of basketball players, held dances and sl-Latina parties. For the first time niern- bers of the class played a sianificant part 1:1 the dramatic productions. This year x roved even rnore notable as we received Jig: class rings in tire spring ratzrer than unirtiria until our senior year. foncludinq a successful year, we passed from the wisdorn of the sophornoric rrqe to that of the Junior year.
