W CHEERLEADERS Success in athletics does not depend on the players alone. It takes school spirit and the support of the student body to instill the will to win. Whether the team won or lost the cheer- leaders were always on hand to keep the spirit high. During the year they planned pep rallies before the big games and hung colorful posters ad- vertising these games in the halls. With a smile and a cheer these girls gener- ated and maintained this school spirit at Avondale. The managers play a very active roll in making a football team. Their jobs are many and include everything from taking care of equipment and uni- forms to caring for the field. It is also the job of the managers to take care of all injuries that occur to the players and see that they are healed as quickly as possible. So for these reasons we commend the managers on their good work this season. COACHES Left to Right: Tip Gozo, Head line Coach, Bill Morrow, Assistant Line Coach and B-Team Coach, Calvin Ramsey, Head Coach, Harry Logue, Backfield Coach. There is much more to a football team than just its players, for someone must train each boy at his po- sition and then mold all of them together to work and perform as a team. This important job belongs to the members of the coaching staff. The proof of the ability of these coaches is recognizable in many places, the greatest of which is a state championship team. Also Coach Ramsey received the honor of High School Coach of the Year, barring no class. For these reasons and many more, we believe that these men make up the best coaching staff in the state!
