RAYMOND N. BAKER SUPERINTENDENT We have reached the end of the first year in our New Avondale High School. Everyone associated with Avondale feel a sense of pride in the achievement of our community. Our new High School is only the beginning of a progressive school system, so much needed and deserved by the children of our community. Our rapidly growing school population will necessitate new and modern facilities on the grade level. Plans are being made by the Board of Education and Ad- ministration to meet these needs as soon as possible. The best is not too good for our children. Raymond N. Baker was born in Ovid Township in 1902. In 1921 he graduated from Ovid High School. He then attended Olivet College where he received his A. B. Degree, and a State Teacher's Certificate. In l9hO he received his Master's Degree from Wayne University. He served as Supervisor of Education in Oakland County for six years. In 19145 he came to Auburn Heights. He now finds himself Superintendent of our beautiful New Avondale High School in which we can see and realize many of his efforts.

ROSCO V. CROWELL Principal Rosco V. Crowell was born July 3, 1918 in East Jordan, Michigan In 1935 he graduated from East Jor- dan High School, after which he at- tended Central Michigan College of Education, receiving his B.S. de- gree in 1939. He then entered the University of Michigan where he re- ceived his M.A. in l9h8. My sincere congratulations to the Graduating Class of 1952. May you reach the goals you are striv- ing for, and enjoy the fruits of your efforts. ARNOLD OJALA Assistant Superintendent Mr. Arnold was born April h, 1905, in Baltic Mine, Michigan. He received his A.B. at Michigan State Normal Col- lege in 1932 and his M.A. from the University of Michigan in l9hl. After teaching for several years in rural schools of Houghton County, Michigan, he came to Rochester, Michigan. He then was Principal in Cedar, Michigan from 1932-36. Counselor of Education, N. Y. A. Camp 1936-375 Principal'Stiles School 1937-h6. Assistant Superinten- dent, Avondale Schools, Auburn Heights, Michigan 19h7. Mr. Ojala is always willing to assist in any emergency which may arise, no matter how unimportant the matter may be.
