Dear Diary, The 1951 season of baseball was one to be remembered in the school of Avondale. we won most'of the games played butulost some also. The game never to be forgotten was the one with Troy on May 17, 1951. Bob Uhan was hit in the throat and knocked out. Ronnie Walters was hit in the eye by a bounding ball and had three stich- es in his eye. Bob Caskey went go the hospital with a brokencheek bone. Here are the scores of the year '5l. Dear Diary, Track is definitely and Wup and comingn sport at this school It was not considered as being on the same level as the other major sports, lfootball, baseball, and basketball? for the last few years, but it is definitely becoming more important every year. Last year the track team, under the coaching of Mr. Ed Kalinowski, Avondale placed fourth in the league meet, which incidently was won bv Roseville, In order to earn a letter in track, a person had to win either a first, a second, or a third in a meet. There were only four boys to win a letter last year. They are: Bill Graham, Walt Spencer, Bill Vancil, and Ben Forbush. 1 h w s So to coach Mr. Dick Huck and the track team of 1952 we them a winning season. Speedily yours, Ben Forbush
