Avondale - O Utica - 28 Avondale opened 1t's season under the lights at Utica in a non-league game. Utica had a big and powerful team and scored in each quarter. They were also successful in making all the conversions. Avondale - Two teams O Lake Orion - 13 that were evenly matched gave a good performance Avondale - in a scoreless twice and made first half. During the second half Orion scored one conversion. o Troy - 13 Troy took they scored on the kick off and marched to Avondale's 40 where a long pass. They also scored in the third quart- er on a 20 yard end run to make the final score 13-O Troy. .Avondale's first victory on their new field was given them by Clawson. A game that saw Clawson score first on a punt return. In the second quarter things changed when Paul Hoehn intercepted a Clawson pass and ran 65 yards down the sidelines with Ben For- bush kicking the point. Avondale scored once more in the second quarter making the final touch down. Avondale - 6 Roseville - 18 In this game the Avondale Jackets gave the Roseville squad a good scare. Roseville scored first half coming into the second half with a 12-O up Avondale squad came into the second half and highly rated twice in the lead. A fired scored in the

third quarter. Roseville scored once more on a long pass by their all-state quarterback. Avondale lk Fitzgerald 20 One of the best games of the season and a real thriller, starting out with Fitzgerald scoring the first time thaslhad the bal1,mak1ng the score 7-O. Another quick tally made the score 13-U before Avondale came to life. Before the half ended the Jackets scored on a pass from Graham to Sargent who ran for the tally. Seconds before the third quarter ended Avondale took the lead with another pass. In the fourth quarter Fitzgerald ran over another tally winning the game 20-lh. Avondale O Madison 7 Later this was found to be the last game of the year as the Imlay City game was snowed out. It was a scoreless game for Avondale as they were penalized frequently. Madison scored the only touch down in the last minutes on a pass interception and made the extra point.
