Our patient guide, Minnie Bee Parsons, courageously led us over the stumbling stones and we covered the first mile with only five members withdrawing from the journey. For the next seven miles, the guides who helped us overcome many doubts and fears, and prepared us for the long climb upward, as we came nearer the great mountain looming in the distance, were: Ruby Bradford, Virginia Parsons, Helen Farrow, Robert Wallace, RobertSmith, Henry Cox, and Richard Marks- bury. At last, in the year of 1956, we reach this lofty mountain called High School, and we have many guides to assist us on the rough, rocky, climb. We experience many mixed emotions during this lap of the journey, some joy, some sorrow, but always the zeal, and the will, to achieve lies uppermost in our thoughts. This year we, the class of 1959, are at the end of the long, long trail, the summit is reached, and there beyond lies the great green pastures of future adventure and the blessings of life abudant. Signed, the Class of '59: Lloyd Acton, Eddie Blair, J' im Bledsoe, Keith Bowman, Gretchen Bradley, Nola Carr, Dale Childress, J' im Dinkel, Jim Hiner, Carol Huffman, Bill J ones, Linda Jones, Sondra Kennedy, Ronnie Kepler, Sylvilene Larkin, Joyce Lisby, Jay McDonald, Larry Miller, Gary Mott, Phyllis Nester, Mike Olmstead, Joan Parrish, Ruby Petree, Margaret Pock, Merrill Roberts, Laura Robinson, J ack Schoen, Judy Searles, Beverly Shew, Ronnie Smith, Oris Snapp, Marlin Stunmerlot, Barbara Surber, Nona Taylor, Irvin Walton, Judy Yates, Bill Young, Mrs. Marie A. Mitchell, Mr. Arthur Davis, and Mr. Ewan G. McClain. .... PRO PH ECY We, the Senior Class of Avon High School, in this year of nineteen hundred and fifty-nine, would like to look a few years ahead and see what fine accomplishments our class will make. The reunion will be held at the very famous resort, the Wimpledorf. As we enter the recreation building, we see Lloyd Acton, coach of the Avon All Stars. With him is that famous designer of dresses, Joyce Lisby. We now wander over to the swimming pool and meet the famous scientist from Watasnozzle Institute, Margaret Pock, with her is her well-known assistant, J' ack Schoen. From there we move on to the Dance Hall operated by Phyllis Nester. With her is the well known secretary, Sylvilene Larkin, who is noted for chasing her boss, Edward Blair, around the office. The Dance Hall is crowded with celebrities. Among them is Beverly Shew, the well known hair stylist. For our entertainment we have singer, Gretchen Bradley, with the famous drummer, Carol Huffman. Dancing in the middle of the floor is Bill ,T ones, famous pilot, with his stewardess, Linda .T ones. They had just flown back from Mars. We see James Blesoe, Ace Rod Expert, with Sondra Kennedy, famous teacher of Pig Latin, sitting at one of the tables in deep conversation. At another table we see Mike Olrnstead, well known for his invention, The Superchargeri' We now leave the Dance Hall and continue to the picnic area. There we see .T ay McDonald, Oris Snapp, and Ronnie Smith, three well known bachelors of romance. They are talking to that well known coquette, Laura Robinson, who has gained much attention for her flirting. As we look around, we see J' im Dinkel, champion jeep lifter, in deep conversation with the famous cartoonist, Judy S earles. Our next stop will be the golf range. We meet the outstanding sports writer, Irvin Walton, who is watching the championship game between S lugger Bill Young and national champion, Gary Mott. We continue on to the beach and find ,Tames Hiner, the famous singer, writing love letters in the sand to the well known hockey player, Judy Yates. Further along the shore we see the champion speed boat racer, Dale Childress, who won the wave Chatingy contest against Keith Bowman, well known swimmer. We will next visit the new race track for stock cars, managed by Larry Miller. We also see the well known mechanic, Ronald Kepler. Both are very much interested in a race car. As we go on, we see Merrill Roberts, national champion motorcycle racer, who last week ran against Lead Foot Marlin Summerlot and his full race tractor. 20 We are told that Joan Parrish and Nola Carr will drive in the hand cart one hundred mile race that will be held in the afternoon. We now prepare to leave, but as we do we hear that Barbara Surber has invented a no voice phone and that the two famous missionaries, Ruby Petree and Nona Taylor, have returned from their journey to the North Pole. We now return to our life of luxury, and think over some more good things about our days at good Old Avon High. xNX xx xx xx F051 .
