class U2lD Sunday, April the twenty-seventh, at 10:55 A.M., an eager, bright-eyed group of twenty-eight Avon seniors, accompanied by four sponsors, boarded a TWA Super Constellation to arrive in Washington, D.C. at 1:35 P.M. Upon arrival, they immediately begin a sight seeing tour of Washington and surrounding vicinity. After their tour, they checked into the Manger-Annapolis Hotel. After a short night, the excited class arose Monday morning, had an early breakfast and began another tour at 9:00 A.M. Pausing only for lunch, the seniors extended this last tour of the nation's capital until 6:00 P.M., when they boarded another plane and headed for the city of enchantment and bright lights, New York! The group arrived at LaGuardia Airport in New York about 7:30 P. M. and transferred to the Sheraton- McAlpin Hotel, at 34th and Broadway. After a brief stop, they visited the Empire State Building Observatory. They began a down town sightseeing bus tour, Tuesday, April 29, at 9:00 A.M. Directly from the bus tour, the seniors transferred to a guided tour of the United Nations General Assembly Building. The afternoon and evening were left free for the students and escorts to enjoy themselves as they pleaed. Bright and early Wednesday morning, the class boarded a sightseeing boat for acruise around Manhattan Island. At 1:30 the cruise ended, and by 2:00 P.M. the seniors were touring the famous Radio City Music Hall. They transferred to LaGuardia Airport at 6:00 P.M. and boarded a TWA Super Con- stellation for their return home. A delicious dinner was enjoyed aboard the plane. A tired, but happy, group of people had arrived in Indianapolis at 9:35 P.M. The trip was both educational and entertaining. It left many happy memories for the class of 1958.
