DEDICATION We, the class of 1957, in lovingmemory, dedicate our annual to Marilyn Huffman, our classmate, who lives on in our hearts. Marilyn had a place all her own in the hearts of those who knew her. She went about the tasks assigned her, with a refreshing genuineness of personality and zest for living, which made her an instant friend to those she met along the way.

OUR AVON SCHOOL There's always regret at the end of the trailg There's grief that the journey is doneg The red of the morning is fairer to see Than the gold of the setting sun. School days must end -- the world heralds its call -- The dawn of a new life appears -- Yet we look back with longing and eyes half-way'dim At Avon School, whom we've known through the years. Dear Avon School! -- Our memories are thronged With hours of delight unalloyed, With the banquets of learning, the feasts of renown, Whose rare flavors we have enjoyed. Goodbye, Avon School! The door opens outward: Our echoing footsteps will pass, But our love will stay green and rebloom through the years With each member of this parting class. For though there's regret at the end of the trail, P And grief that the journey is done, The red of the morning we'l1 take and we'1l mix With the gold of the setting sim.
