Four years in high school We’ve had to go through. But the hardest one we had Was the one when we lost you. We thought it was the end As we lay our heads down to cry. But we helped each other through And were willing to give it a try. Just knowing you’d be happy And one day teach us to fly. You left a lot of friends behind And made it hard for us to part With the one friend we all cherished And whose friendship we held close to our heart. Your smile was like the sun. It brightened our dullest day. Your laughter made us feel happy. It seemed to show us the way. We’ll never forget the memories You’ve given us through the years. If only you were here, there ' d be no need to shed these tears. We will one day see you again But until that day, we hope you know Your memory is with us forever. And we will never let it go. SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE Dear Graduates: Congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 1987! As you depart for lives of further study, work, service or travel, this Yearbook will long serve as a reminder of the individual and collective impact you have had on the life and history of Avon High School. Similarly, it will provide a testament to the influ ence that Avon High School has had on each of you. Compressed within these two-dimensional surfaces are various events which record the faces, activities, triumphs and encoun- ters of all kinds that comprised the 1986-1987 School Year. Each picture is only a key which can unlock the deeper, richer exper- iences that lie beneath the surface. The true value of this record is to be found in your hearts, minds and memories. Like anything of great worth, it will become more meaningful and precious with each passing year. We wish each of you a wonderful, challenging and rewarding future.
