THE MORSS REVIEW Last summer delightful and quiet, a time when you DOUCETTE down and enjoy life, but like anything else, all such things must end, and Scrooge returned when school opened to take up his duties once again. But no sooner had we KIM back than Hurricane Gloria hit. Wow! The ROBBINS were knocked out of the air by the strong winds, and you wished you could be Peter PAM, whisking off to Never-Never Land and away from the trauma of this VAIL of tears. But that was not possible, and Scrooge, thinking firsthand observation of the storm would be fun, donned his ANDERSON-Little coat and headed outside. He hadn’t gone far when bam! A branch fell on his head and all his lights went out. Scrooge suddenly found himself in a new FORDE passing SULLIVAN Stadi- um, heading for a westward interstate. Rather an odd itinerary. First to see the St. LAWRENCE Seaway, an interesting spot with ships from many nations. Since it was lunchtime, a stop in the local pub seemed the answer for a sandwich, but it was swinging at midday. Some British sailors were carous- ing, making an infernal din. Scrooge turned to them and exclaimed, “Great SCOTT, can’t you lads quiet down?” Realizing that they were being a nuisance, one turned and said in a Cockney accent, “We’re a bloody noisy bunch of SEYLLERS, aren’t we?” There was no disagreeing with that. Then it was westward, through St. JOSEPH, Missouri, KEARNEY, Nebraska, and into Yellowstone Park, to see the Old Faithful and KANGISERS. Thence over the Continental Divide and on to San Francisco via HAYWARD and Oakland. After a day of sightseeing there, the fastest route across the town was on GEARY Boulevard to connect with 101 south. The FORDE headed for Los Angeles. First Scrooge took a tour to see the LYONS in Safari Land and then to Knott’s BERRY Farm, where he brought some CURRAN jelly. Then it was back to Hollywood, DE SENA of the film industry, to see the filming of “No, No, NANNETTE,” starring GREGORY Peck, MERILYN Monroe, and CLARK Gable. By chance, JEN STAFFIER, the new leading lady of Dynasty, who happened to be on the set, invited Scrooge to a party that night at her MULHOLLAND Drive residence. What a spread! It was an exact replica of HAMPTON Court in England. Everyone famous was there. MICHELLE FERRINI, having displaced CHERYL Tiegs as a leading model, turned up in a KELLEY green dress and wearing a diamond and emerald KENEKL1S. JULIA Childs was there; she’d done all the cooking, along with food heiress KAREN SWANTON, of TV dinner fame. All was going well until ROBERT VENUTI, star of Miami Vice, strolled in with the most gorgeous VIAU in Hollywood on his arm. Much to his surprise, a Bing CROSBY look-alike, who had arrived on a Harley-DAVIDSON and not on a white charger, TUCKER away. VENUTI went wild. He grabbed the lazy SUSAN off the dining room table and bopped CROSBY on the CHIN, until the other guests decided to LINDA hand until a KOPP could get there. He then ran outside and hid in some mountain LAUREL beside the front door. It was much livelier than any St. PATRICK’S Day party when the O’BRIENS and their friends lift their glasses. After that scuffle ended, the poet LORIate of England began reading poetry. After that, a young poetess, a student at PENNINGTON College, read some of her stuff after everyone QUALTER over. It wasn’t bad, actually. Scrooge concluded that it had been a FABulous party, when a snapping and arcing became audible, along with the sound of howling wind. Scrooge had come to and decided he’d better get away from that downed branch and the hissing electric wire. Crawling to his feet, he headed back indoors.
