But these reminiscences also brighten the future and allow men to look forward with confidence. The editors of this yearbook have tried to bring back many of these reminiscences that we may always keep these memories as an integral part of our youth and as an indication to our future. Dr. Stephen E. Hart Dr. Hart: A man who gave a part of himself to the improvement of the school system and com- munity. Dr. Hart: A man with the vision to foresee the problems of the future and the determination to plan and provide for them. A man whose foresight and planning insured an excellent edu- cation for us. Dr. Hart: A man interested enough to involve himself with the concerns of the students, the teachers, and the citizens. Dr. Hart: A man who continues to serve the area’s students as Director of the Blue Hills Title III Project. We, the Class of 1967, are honored to dedicate our yearbook to Dr. Stephen E. Hart Superintendent of Schools 1957-1966 4 In Appreciation We the students of the Class of 1967 salute Mr. Arnold Gerson. We appreciate his guidance, his friendship, and above all his true concern for each and every one of us as individuals. We know that his counselling will be of as much value to the students of Winthrop High School as it was to us. Mr. Arnold Gerson Sponsored by HERMITITE CORP Avon, Mass. 5 Principal Administrators MR. During her six years as advisor of the Sonnet” she has devoted much of her time and effort to making each yearbook better than the one before. She is respected and admired by us all, not only as a teacher and advisor, but also as a friend. She has done more for us in the short time we have known her than any other person we have worked with. We hope that she knows how much we appreciated her help this year. We can never thank her enough for all she has done for us. — The Sonnet Staff, 1967. Each member exemplifies all of these qualities. This year’s Honor Society members have been granted certain privileges — they no longer need passes to go to or from the li- brary, and they may be excused from taking mid-year and final exams if they have 85 averages and the consent of the subject teach- er. In return they have the responsibility of caring for the bulletin boards and showcase and tutoring other students who have re- quested their help. CAROL LANDRY Vice-President Row One: C. Daigle, D.
