In order to accommodate our growing student population, and to comply with State Regula- tions concerning handicapped persons, our school is undergoing some major renovations. Construction commenced with ground breaking on Friday, October 17, 1980. Present at the ceremony were Mr. Shine, Board of Education members, town officials, students Kathy Weaver, Mark Ostrowski, and Amy Driscoll, and members of the building committee including Avon High '75 graduate, Larry Brunoli. The work is being done by Brunoli and Sons, Inc., and the projected date of completion is Oc- tober, 1981. This expansion work will leave us with two elevators, a new library, larger and more efficient administrative and guidance of- fices, additions to the music and physical education departments, and an air-conditioned auditorium. .-1 As a blizzard strikes outside, a hurricane has struck inside.
