WINTER CONCERT + The 1980 Winter Concert was once again a success featuring the Avon High School Chorus, Special Chorus, and Concert Band. The Chorus sang The Last Words of David, Still, and selections from The Muppet Movie accom- panied by the members of the music staff. The Special Chorus performed brilliantly, as did the Band which received a standing ovation, for performing selections Mark Borensteinwaitshiscue from Carmen, Annie and Danse Macabre. IVIIDWINTEFVS DREAM This year's semi-formal dance, Midwinter's Dream, took place on Saturday, December 20. The evening's festivities, sponsored by the Student Government, began at 8:00 and concluded at 12:00. Early graduation was held inthe drama studio on January 27, 1981 at ten o'clock a.m. This year, fifteen students elected to face the real world a semester earlier than the rest of their classmates. This is a record for the number of early graduates. Mrs. Janet Prevost, member of the Board of Educa- tion, offered some words of wisdom to the early graduates, and Mr. Shine spoke briefly about each one.
