To them we offer our deepest gratitude for all they have done to make our fondest dreams a reality. Through their capable guidance and warm understanding they have untiringly guided us during these years. 'Working hand in hand, their ceaseless efforts have made our schooling both a pleasant and profitable one. They instilled in us those values which have a meaning in the light of eternity. A -short explanation of some ofthegeproblemsls given. The School Board of District 3176, urges you to answer and return the questionnaire which was mailed to all taxpayers in this district. Results of this questionnaire will be made .known to you either by letter or at a public meeting. Further- more, any member of the Board will be personally interested in your questions or comments. The transporting of pupils in our school district, for the past 5-7 years, has been run- ning 3l0-12, 000 in the red an- nually. This amount of money has, to be transferred from the educational fund to transporta- tion fund to cover the deficit. At present we are leving 2e!3l0O evaluation for trans- portation. This is the maxi- mum amount allowed without a referendum. We can by law increase thl.s,89! to'a max mum of 10413100 evaluation. This has -to be approved by a vote of the taxpayers. If the above in- crease to 10413100 were allowed it would give the school district approximately 311,000 addi- tional money for transportation. The School Board feels this in- crease is sufficient for the pre- Q,if'rr'5fvi1Ex5i6hMlf1ncWtr:Ws thi' The Avon Homecoming Parade will be held on October 18th at 2 p.m. The parade will consist of eight floats, the King and Queen attendants, the King and Queen candidates, the col- or guard, the Avon High School -and Grade School bands, plus many more entries.
