Beverly Smith, who is in the WAFS, has recently been promoted to a colonel. Gene Young, coach at St. Augustine, recently defeated Notre Dame 47 to O. This is the first game they have won in three years. Betty Meachum is now a famous band leader. Kay Bagge, Dean Mitchell, Diane Butler, and Junior Asquith are members of this band. Pat Carrico is their vocalist. They are now playing at the Stork Club. Betty shows Herefords in her spare time. The other kids spend their spare time sight- seeing in New York, except Junior, who spends his writing letters to his Avon sweetheart. Bill Wright is the star photographer on the New York Star. He has been warned that if he doesnlt stop throwing his camera at his Abingdon wife in their quarrels he will be fired. fCameras are expensivej Elvira Blunt, Avonls first woman coach, is taking her basketball team to the State Tournament this year. Lucille Kitch is celebrating her eighth wedding anniversary. The latest addition to the Adolph- son family was christened Hercermer. Karol Smith arrived in furs and jewels. She bought these with the money she received from her best-seller, MHow to Catch a Husband. It is based upon her own experience. It's a fool-proof method . . . just ask Bill. Bud Woods now owns a night club in Chicago. Bud always had a yearning for the Hwild side of lifef, lVlarcia Dickerson and Mableann Altheide are co-owners of the American Beauty in Galesburg. This has proved to be a profitable arrangement. Glen lVlcVey is now busy with his campaign. He has been nominated for the presidency. fElks of Galesburg.j John Alden, Bonnie Powell, and Bonnie Bay are professional basketball players. They're raising a team of their own. They each have three children. Bob Wagy is an Admiral in our U. S. Navy. He is the most sought-after bachelor of St. Au- gustine. Marvin Baker is Chief Mechanic at the Ford garage. Hels thinking about starting his own garage. Could he have marriage on his mind? ? ? The folks around here don't have much trouble telling June and Joanne Gray apart any more because June is in California teaching school and Joanne is a secretary for a congressman in Washington, D. C. lVlardell Hofmeister, now Wagy, is living in St. Augustine, lllinois. She was a little sleepy at the reunion because her new baby kept her up all night. Bonnie Lankford is a P. E. teacher at Abingdon High. She and her husband live on a farm near Abingdon. Beverly Kepple is going to Paris next week to study art. VVe've heard these Frenchmen have quite a line. Nancy Aringdale didnit have much time to join in the conversation. She was too busy patch- ing the skinned knees. Good practice, as she is a nurse. Kay Bagge has just been promoted to Superintendent of Nurses at the Cottage Hospital. Shirley Dawdy is making Hgobsv of money. She is an airline hostess in San Francisco. Dixie Johnson was the only classmate absent. After graduation she took the first plane for Kansas. I, Dwight Simmons, do will and bequeath my ability to argue to Charles Carpenter, with the understanding he wins all the arguments he gets in. I, Dixie Johnson, do will and bequeath my ability to stay home at night to anyone who has a boyfriend in the service. I, Junior Asquith do will and bequeath my ability to go with a sophomore girl to anyone who needs it. I, Jeanne Dawdy, do will and bequeath my red hair to Vicki Schleich, with the understanding that she is satisfied with it after she gets it. I, Elvira Blunt, do will and bequeath my athletic abilities to Sheryl Eathington. I hear she needs them. I, Shirley Dawdy, do will and bequeath my ability to be a good car hop to Sharon Johnson and Doris Sensabaugh, so they wonit get fired the first week. I, June Gray, do will and bequeath my Abingdon boyfriends to anyone who needs them, pro- vided they take good care of them. I, Kathryn Bundren, do will and bequeath my love for Hill-Billy music to Patty Powell, pro- vided that she listens to it every night. I, Boland I-Iofmeister do will and bequeath my A's to Ronnie Wagy, provided he always makes the honor roll. I, Bonnie Powell, do will and bequeath my MP0well7' hair cut to Eddie Fitzgibbon, provided he cuts it every week. I, Nancy Aringdale, do will and bequeath my seat in the band to Billy Lee, with the under- standing that he takes lessons first. I, Beverly Smith, do will and bequeath my 'fgift of gala to Marilyn Copeland with the under- standing she Hgabsw all the time. I, Lucille Kitch, do will and bequeath my book, allow To Get a Diamond in Six Easy Les- sonsf, to anyone that wants one. fThat's how I got mine.j I, Bonnie Lankford, do will and bequeath my ability to obtain an Abingdon F.F.A. jacket to anyone who likes them. SENIOR PROPHECY This item appeared in the weekly Avon Sentinel. This is the story of the Class Reunion as the public would remember it. The other story that will be remembered by the class members is as follows: Since they were used to rising early because of farm life, Boland Hofmeister and Dwight Simmons were the first to arrive at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Alden. Boland plans to return to college this fall as a professor when the crops are ha-rvested. Dwight has been blessed with many chil- dren. They arrived in two cars. The five-room home was a bit crowded, but everyone had a good time. There was much hand shaking and MWhat have you been doingfw The information given was: Jeanne Dawdy has made herself famous with the painting, HThe Girl W'ith Bed Hair. Itis hanging in the New York Museum of Art. She plans to marry her boss in July. Margery Pollitt, who is now in missionary work, jilted her B-P-C fiance and married an Afri- can head hunter. They now have three children. 13
