We, the Senior Class of 1953 A. D., being of sane mind, do hereby bequeath, sign, and pub- lish the following possessions to the underclassmen: I, Bud Woods, do will and bequeath my football career to Ronnie Webber, provided he makes varsity every year. I, Kay Bagge, do will and bequeath my poise to Cheryl Beuter, with the understanding that she uses it. a girl. I, Bill Wright, do will and bequeath my love for the Abingdon Theatre to anyone who needs I, ,Iohn Alden, do will and bequeath my ability to drive 'Gone-armed to Richard Luper with the understanding that he stays on the road at least half of the time. I, Ronnie Ray, do will and bequeath my love of sports to David Gustafson, with the under- standing that he wins three varsity letters each year. I, Dean Mitchell, do will and bequeath my presidential power to the future president of the Senior Class. SENICR HISTORY SCJCIETY September 1949, forty-two very brave green Freshmen appeared at Avon High. We were lost for a while, but soon found our way around. Our sponsor was Royce Davis. The following year, September 1950, we returned as silly Sophomores. We were forty-one in number. This year we lost Robert Dykeman, ,loan Hoover, Wilma Howard, Dorothy Sailer and Lula Mae Stotler. To make up for this loss we gained Sammy Fox, Bonnie Lankford, Leo Williams and Gene Young. Our sponsor was Royce Davis. As jolly Juniors, we were as lost as the Freshmen because of our new building. Our number had decreased to thirty-six. This year we lost seven classmates. They were Frank Myers, Melvin Purchase, Barbara Ragon, Leo Williams, Sammy Fox, Betty Lou Eatherton, and Marilyn Eathington. Our only new classmates were Marcia Dickerson and Kathryn Bundren. Mr. and Mrs. Royce Davis were our sponsors. ' There were thirty-five very sophisticated Seniors this year. We got off to a good start by initi- ating the Freshmen. Did they love us! During the year we lost Shirley Ennis and Ellen Duncan. Our only new Senior was Beverly Kepple. Mr. W. H. Reed and Mr. D. M. Hanson were our sponsors. Though we've lost a few students, we feel very proud of our graduating class of thirty-five.

SENIOR PROPHECY This item appeared in the weekly Avon Sentinel. This is the story of the Class Reunion as the public would remember it. The other story that will be remembered by the class members is as follows: Since they were used to rising early because of farm life, Boland Hofmeister and Dwight Simmons were the first to arrive at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Alden. Boland plans to return to college this fall as a professor when the crops are ha-rvested. Dwight has been blessed with many chil- dren. They arrived in two cars. The five-room home was a bit crowded, but everyone had a good time. Itis hanging in the New York Museum of Art. She plans to marry her boss in July. Margery Pollitt, who is now in missionary work, jilted her B-P-C fiance and married an Afri- can head hunter. They now have three children. 13
