Bonita Snspp - Josephine Sol r te SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We can remember yay back in 48 when the green little 40 entered old A.H.S. That year we chosd Barbara Allison for Presidentg Dave Jackson, Vice President: ,lack Sublett, our Secretary and Treasurer, Lavoune Cox and Dick Rapp as our Student Council Representatives. Mr. Reed and Miss Wilson were our advisors. The Seniors gave us a very nice initiation party, which we 'all survived, and at which we had a lot of fun. During the year we lost Ronald Tournear, Bob Clayton, Butch Williams, Francis Cutler, Lavonne Cox, David and Gary Courter. ln 49 we all came back ready for work as sophomores. Thirty-three members were still in the old gang. Our class officers were: President, Bonita Snappg Vice President, Danny Steachp Secretary, Roberta Doyle, Treasurer, Dick Reppg and our Student Council Representatives were Barbara Allison and Sarah Butler. Mr. Goodwin was our class advisor. During the year we lost Charlotte Myers, Marlene Scalf, Harriet Lee, Dorothy Brown, and Helen Allen. We, also had two new members, Clara Gray and Marilyn Haas. Upon our return as Juniors we found that all those wehad lost in the spring except June Bernhart had returned, Our class officers were: President, Barbara Allisong Vice President, Clara' Gray, Secretary,gHoberta' Doyleg Treasurer, Bill Hopkings. Dave Jackson and Ronnie Cray represented our class oi the Student Council. Mr. Jostes and Mr. Reem were our class advisors. During the year we neither lost nor gained any students. We 'presented a Junior Play, Grandpa Steps Out in the fall. We entertained the student body with a Christmas party. There was an exchange :af gifts and sandwiches, cookies, and pop were served. We had our Junior Senior Prom on May 12, and invited the graduates of the last two years. We had Bill Chrisen- son Orchestra play and our theme was Stardust . Ah! at last we are Seniors. We gained ,Ioan Cooper this year and in the late fall we lost Clara Gray, who now attends Abingdon High School. Our President was Pam Fnllertong Vice President, Bill Sensabaughg Secretary, Roberta Dpyleg Treasurer, Louise Woods. On April 18 we presented our Senior Class Play, The Beauty and the Beef. It was a successful affair. Baccalaurate services were held May '25 at the Methodist Church and we graduated on May 27. May we all be successful and the bestlof luck to gveryoue. v 4-all S-' f

SENIOR PRG5'i'iECY Ten years after their graduation from good old Avon High School, Jo Ann Ruff and mise Woods met Barbara Allison and Sarah Butler while shopping in Flsicago. They d lunch together and talked over old times. Oh, inf -lfsritly Jo .Gini .ir-'E Louise are opping for- Jo Ann'e wedding gown. Sarah is now a social science teacher in New Merino and is home for a short .cation. She married someone she met in New Mexico. Bill Sensabaugh is now mayor of Greenbush and ursrieil to his school day sweet4 'BTL Bonita Snapp graduated from Macomb college and is now and old maid school acher at St. Augustine University. l Jo Solter is married and following her husband's navy career. Howard Sailer and Bud Coupland are now the owners of La Guardia Airport in ' fw York City. Joan Cooper married Bub Rheim. They are living near' Avon on a farm with a . uily of three. Charlotte Jenning was the owner of State's Cafe. Later she moved to Kachow, ina, where they say she is teaching Christianity to the natives. ' Pam Fullerton is the owner of the five and dime . She has her Masters Degas d is 'married to one of her Prairie City boyfriends. Her husband works in a garage. is a good thing because she is good at denting fenders. Evelyn Watt ia now Nm-se Supervisor at Cottage Hospital. Dick Hepp is the Abingdon girls P. E. teacher. He always did like the Abingdon 'ls. Danny Steach is now a Commerce teacher at Avun. He always did like the eosi- :rcial subjects, especially bookkeeping. Marilyn Simmons is residing in Galesburg with her husband: They have two ildren. .-a ' Ronnie Gray is now the owner of a trucking firm that runs from St. Augustine to licago. They truck livestock. lloberta Doyle married Dick Chambers, and they are living in California. Dave Jackson is, a coach at Hebron. He has taken his team to the tournament gh, at four years and won it :oo. Bill Sorrells is an oil tycoon in Texasi Lucille Anderson is working as a secretary in Chicago for the Burlington Railroad. Pat Babbitt is living in New Jersey. She and Bob new have four children. They I not like the California climate. U Bill Hopkins is working in the State Chemist Laboratory in Springfield, Massachu- tts. He hasn't blown anything: up yet. - Kathryn Hornbaker married a boy from Marietta.
