B E G I N N I N G S MR. GARRY BILLINCTON MR. TED BINLEY As we cross the bridge from student life to adulthood, we have to remember that we're not going from the beginning to the end of anything. Bridges don't start or stop journeys; they're only tools that we need to carry us over troubled waters. This year as we started across the bridge to adulthood, we were very lucky to have four new travelers join us. The first two, Julie Billington and Kyle Anderson stepped onto our bridge the first day of September. A little later Olav Krutzfeldt and Pam Dale joined our group. Even though these four were not with us on the long adventurous trip leading up to this crossing, they do share all the joy, happiness, and even fear that this final crossing contains. As we walk hand in hand across the bridge we know that we're firmly bonded together not only as Seniors and the Class of '86 but as friends forever and that's a very special relationship for all of us. A new beginning that Avoca and the Class of '86 has seen this year is the new administra- tion and new additions to our class. These new people have added a great deal to our journey down the road of life. First of all, we would like to welcome Mr. Billington as an experienced traveler. Although he started working at Avoca Central last February, we would like to acknowledge the hard work that he has put forth and the obstacles he has overcome to make this school a better place of learning. Because of his dedication our journey was a little smoother this year. As principal of Avoca Central School, Mr. Binley has shown a great deal of authority by changing traditional rules that affect the student body which has led to a more organized environment. In addition to this, Mr. Binley has tolerated much rebellion from the student body because of these bends and forks in our road. He has tried to help the student body understand why these rules were made. Once again, our road was smoothed out for us. 14 New Beginnings
