THE AVOCAN CLASS COLORS -- Black and White CLASS MOTTO -- If there is no path, we shall make one CLASS FLOWER -- Red Carnation Presented by: CLASS OF 1964 AVOCA CENTRAL SCHOOL AVOCA, NEW YORK APPRECIATION We, the Class of '64, fully realize the great importance of the teachers from kindergarten through eighth grade and, therefore, we feel that they should be individually recognized. It is our desire that this acknowledgement be carried on by succeeding classes and become a tradi- tion. It is for this reason that we pay tribute to Mrs. Healey, who, through sincere understanding of our problems and interest in what we did in those very important, formative, junior high years, has helped us to become better, more mature citizens. DEDICATION We, the Class of '64, sincerely feel that a lifetime in the field of Education is a truly noteworthy accomplishment. We, therefore, dedicate our AVOCAN to Miss Mary Shults, who has spent thirty-two years in educating the youth of the Avoca area. Also we wish to express our gratitude to you. Miss Shults, for the assistance you have given us on research projects and book reports. Your willingness to keep the library open extra hours for our benefit is greatly appreciated. This also points out your interest in learning. We certainly hope that you will enjoy your annual and remember your Senior homeroom, the Class of ’64, with affection. A man always has to wait! ! But Please don't kick me out--I did- n't mean to do it! ! but----- coffee puts it back! ! Driving takes it out of ya' Did you hear that?!! Hey, Karl--Can I join ya'? Don't you call me stupid-Doc! Others will find their futures in other states, in other cities, other towns or right here in their home community. No matter where you go and no matter what you aspire to do, we at Ingersoll-Rand wish you the greatest measure of success. Your parents and your teachers, your church and your community have all helped to prepare you to meet the challenges you will face in the years ahead. We know that you will fully justify the confidence that so many have placed in you. But wherever you may travel, look homeward from time to time. Remember those who are closest to you in heart and spirit. Recall and return to the people, the places and the scenes that you loved best. For all that is past is prologue and all that you are and hope to be, began here in the place you call home.
