BALFOUR COMPANY 271 2 East Third Street Peru, Indiana HERFF JONES COMPANY Class Rings and Pins Indianapolis, Indiana Forty-four freshmen timidly joined the high school crowd in the year 1949. They were so green that by the time they became sophomores, they had lost six members. The 38 remaining chose green and gold for class colors and then ordered their class sweaters using these same shades. Then the 34 juniors bravely came back to work hard through their junior year. Under the guidance of their sponsor, Miss Miller, they sold everything from Christmas cards to suckers in order to have funds for a senior trip. The junior year saw them purchase sparkling class rings, choose the yellow rose as their class flower, and select their class motto: The Elevator to Success Is Not Running. Stairs. the Take At last 33 students arrived at the wonderful stage of being seniors. The middle of April, 33 exhausted seniors came back from an exciting trip to the historic East. They were tired, but not too tired to fly through exams, sit sedately through baccalaureate, clown through class night, and then march in a dignified manner down the aisle to receive their diplomas. BECKMAN CHRISTIANSON, JEWELERS Diamonds, Watches, and Silverware Phone 718 Kendallville, Indiana IN APPRECIATION We, the Senior class, wish to pay tribute to AAiss Miller, our beloved and devoted spon- sor. It was she who helped us immeasurably and led us triumphantly through the crucial four years of our high school career. At this time we wish to express to her our heartfelt appreciation for all that she has done.
