Washington is Mary Foster, president of the Club for Maiden Ladies in Amer- ica, Marrilee Debes, Emma Huff, and Margaret Parr are very active mem- bers, but Margaret has found a man and thinks she ' ll resign. Patty Jackson with her clarinet and Ruthie Uhlwith her sax are playing with Phil Spitalny ' s all-girl orchestra. La- on Rhodes was pianist for the orches- tra last year, but now she ' s with the New York Philharmonic. Doris Castator married one of the top men on Wall Street and has one lovely red-headed daughter. Maxine Householder and Paul- ine Weimer, both happily married, are living side by side on Contentment Ave - nue. Across the street live George Idd- ings and the former Marjorie Freeman. They seem to be well-satisfied, too. Look on the west corner of Success and Vine Streets. I think the sign says Wolf ' s Super Market. At last Paul is a success, and Dortha Rimmel is his no. 1 clerk. There goes Skeeter Grocock into the store now. My goodness! His beard has grown until it ' s almost to his knees. Johnny Gadomski inherited sev- eral swank appartment houses in Cleve- land from his wealthy aunt. He lives in luxury with a whole staff of servants, in- cluding Lee Ott, his butler, and Gale Schaefer, his chauffeur. Hugh Reynolds is roadmanager of Ringling Bros, circus. We see him every summer. Lillian Juengel has finally settled down and is living in a cute little apart- ment in the big city of Akron. Martha Freeman lives in a bungalow by a lake shore. Bob Grace is still running wild. I can ' t quite see whether a woman is after him or not. Lois Baney owns a big ranch in Texas. She has a stable full of beautiful riding horses. Carl Christensen is a Commander in the U.S. Air Force. He certainly looks handsonne in that un- iform ! Betty Horstman is the proprietor of an exclusive dress shop in Chicago. The best dressed women in the mid-west all buy their clothes from her. Ronald and Donald have made quite a name for them- selves. The law firm of Offord and Offord is one of the most respected in New York City. Janis Whan and Ruth Iddings are their secretaries. Sam Shank finally got married, but Forrest Parks, Bud Pfafman, and Jack Traxler think that the single life is the best life. Charley Bowers went out to Texas a few years ago and struck oil. He wears so many big diamonds that Pres- ident Owen is thinking about hanging him from the ceiling of the White House for a chandelier. 16

He doesn ' t look so healthy, though, so may- be vice-president Floyd Butler will soon succeed him in office. Also in the news is Senator Ann Pepple, chairman of the committee investigating un-American Activities. Donna Pfafman and Retha Fischer are her secretaries, and she says they ' re very efficient, too. Don Ley and Bob Walt have been promoted from designing posters to designing thousand dollar bills for the government. Also in 15
