We chose as our flower the pink carnation and as our motto, We Build for Character, Not for Fame. As our money-making projects we sold magazines, had concessions at ball games, sold greeting cards (we set an all high record with $1053 worth sold), and onMarch 31 and April 1 presenteda very successful play, Prize Pigs. During the year we staged two very delightful parties, the one in the form of a dinner at the school house and the other as a wiener roast at the town park. Alas! Forty-one seniors returned in September, 1949, vi ' ith Mrs. Sisson and Mr. Helmer as our guides. Among our group we missed the faces of Rita Koenig and Tommy Tompkins. For our class executives we selected Allen Owen, presi- dent; Floyd Butler, vice president; Ann Pepple, secretary; and Doris Castator, treasurer. Under the direction of Mrs. Sisson we presented the play, Don ' t Darken My Door, October 20 and 21. On October 25 we journeyed to the Fort- meyer Studio in Fort Wayne to have our pictures taken; on December 15 we received our photographs. The local P.T.A. honored us with a supper party April 18. This event along with two class parties completed our social activities for the year. During the second week of May we traveled on the B. and O. Columbian to Washington, D.C. where we spent three very full and delightful days. This event proved both educational and recreational. At last the two long awaited days approached--Baccalaureate Service May 14 and Commencement May 17--when forty-one seniors proudly donned their caps and gowns and marched sedately up the aisle to receive their diplomas.
